What are mobile concrete pumps? Mobile concrete pumps are machines that use hydraulic pressure to operate large pistons, usually 8 inches to 10 inches in diameter, to push liquid concrete which is delivered to the pump by transit mix concrete trucks, through pipe and hose to the required destination. The most common concrete pumps are mounted on heavy duty trucks for mobility. Concrete is delivered by ready mix trucks that discharge the concrete into the receiving hopper at the rear of the concrete pump. These concrete pump machines have articulating booms for moving the delivery hose to the point where the concrete is required. These truck mounted concrete pumps with booms are capable of pumping concrete at very high volumes, in excess of 200 cubic yards per hour. These concrete pumping machines have booms of various sizes some capable of reaching up 70 meters high.
